Real-time radio in conjunction with forward Infra-Red (IR) technology.
A full text Liquid Crystal Display on the back of the Phaser.
The use of digital sampled sounds instead of tone generated sounds on the vest.
Multi-coloured LED Clusters (BLOBs) on the packs, so any pack can be any colour (usually Red, Green, Blue or Yellow) and in certain games a player can even switch teams during the game.
The GEM (Game Enhancement Module) - a nulti-functional arena module that can be a Team Base, Energiser, Mine etc. within a game and control lights and other special effects within the arena.

The pack itself is made of leather, which being a breathable material, virtually eliminates the smells and sweat that would be absorbed by other materials.
The lasertag equipment is durable and reliable, reducing the maintenance costs and lost revenue due to faulty equipment.
The laser tag equipment includes an intelligent charging system. Whenever a pack is returned to the rack, it will start charging automatically. There is no need to remove the batteries for charging, or even the need for a member of staff to plug in the packs to charge them.

The Credit - players must accumulate credit by tagging the opposition and then spend them to by power-ups from the GEMs.
Dynamic Handicapping - giving regular players more of a challenge.
Many powers and game features including invisibility (stealth mode), Nebuliser (Short range, Wide area of effect weapon), Thief mode (Dark Thief lets you steal from other players), the Bug (A contageous virus that disables you pack temporarily)
Themed Characters and scripted games where a GEM may be, for example a Vampire, a Snake or strike players with Lightning... lode a life unless you possess Rubber Shoes in which case you gain Electroblaster - a lethal weapon.
Game types like Defector (players can switch teams during a game), Borg (players are linked together and share powers etc), Bulldog and more.
